Original 1953 crown had failed catastrophically — water intrusion was reaching the firebox. Full demo and rebuild with code-compliant overhang and drip edge restored function and matched the heritage masonry.

Builder finished a new home without the chimney the buyers wanted. We built a full code-compliant wood-burning fireplace, chimney, and hearth from scratch — permitted, inspected, signed off by NFI specialist.

The chase was wrapped in flagstone veneer that had opened along the brick corner. Once the stone was off, the sheathing behind it came apart in the hand. We rebuilt the chase from the framing out and closed it in with lap siding that matches the rest of the house.
